We hope very much you'll find some songs you really like if not love! The sound and feel of each album created by this Jamaican vocal group is often very different from the next so if you find you don't like a particular album, listen to the others as there is something to meet all tastes! If you like catchy feel-good music with soulful vocals, you won't be disappointed. Listening is extremely quick and easy to do - simply clicking a particular album's link transfers you straight to iTunes where you can hear a 30 second samples on the album! 

If you're short of time, listen to 2 or 3 tracks from each album to give you a flavor of each, if that whets your appetite for a particular album go back to hear it in full. You might find tracks you like even more than those you've already heard!

***Remember this group are surprising in their variety, versatility and consistency of quality with captivating male and/or female lead vocals. Listening to a selection of their output doesn't do their talent justice and you're bound to miss tracks you would love. This unique and innovative vocal group's music is very difficult to categorize as it covers and fuses a wide range of genres including r&b, dancehall, pop, house, dub, soca, ska and reggae! And even when they do reggae, it doesn't sound like any other group or artist. They have a truly unique sound all their own which is very captivating and uplifting. 1 Rough and Ready

Strictly hardcore ragga/dancehall combinations with other artists. Includes a version of the negro spritiual Down By The Riverside reworked as Lay Down My Burden. Some short wicked dubs at the end of each track.

 

2 New Shortcake

r&b/soul/house/ballad/ska/reggae/roots

Mostly love songs except the haunting ballad Jah Always Be Around.

 

3 Live My Life

pop/motown/r&b/soul/ballad/soca/reggae/ragga/dancehall

Mostly catchy uptempo songs of summer and sun! It's fresh and its fun! Includes the moody excellent protest song Save The Children bemoaning global child poverty featuring the highly respected Junior of 'Mama Used To Say' fame. The backing vocals especially towards the end is really reminiscent of Earth Wind and Fire.

 

4 From Me To You

r&b/soul/reggae

In Japan and the Far East this wonderful love songs album is sold under the r&b/soul category. That is a testament to Me and You's trademark soulful delivery, here with superb reggae support by one of the best and most prolific Jamaican groups - the legendary We The People band. Me and You fans will recognize This Love, You Never Know, their versions of La La La and Ooh Baby Baby amongst others. Classic stuff produced by Dennis Brown & Castro Brown and backed by Jamaica's We The People band. Arranged by Lloyd Parks, Earl Chinna Smith and Dean Fraser.

 

5 Midnight Blue

roots/reggae/dj/dub

This album focuses mostly on social commentary airing issues such as commercialism in Money Can't Buy Happiness, racism in Midnight Blue, selfishness in Lovers Hate and the religious theme of Give Praise To Jah. There's also an excellent dj version of Give Praise called Spa Wid Me and a dub of Sun Won't Shine. Backed by The Studio One band from Coxsone Dodd's Studio One in Jamaica, this album has a great live feel to it.

 

6 Let Me Go

r&b/soul/roots/reggae/dancehall

More Me and You's unique flavor of love songs with irresistably head-nodding rhythms. The title track Let Me Go has become a classic, also well loved by fans are Who Told You So, Casual Affair and Back Together Again. There are also two protest songs - the storming Malicious Minds and Rough Justice about police injustice.

 

7 Let Me Go Dub

dub/roots/reggae

Strictly dubwise versions of most of the tracks on the Let Me Go album. Wicked if you like your drum and bass up front and plenty of echo in the right places - not for the faint-hearted! The only track dubbed to oblivion here which is not on Let Me Go is We Do It Version the original of which you can find on the Railway Station album.

 

8 Make Love Not War

r&b/soul/reggae/ragga/easy listening/pop/ragga/dancehall

Great renditions including First Cut Is The Deepest, Diana, Dream Lover, Saturday Night at the Movies, A Thousand Eyes and Yaketty Yak, Never Let Me Go and That Sunday That Summer. Backed by MegaMovement Me and You's backing band.

 

9 New Shortcake Version 

r&b/soul/ragga/dancehall/house/reggae/dub/instrumental

Mellow versions of top tracks from New Shortcake and Make Love Not War. With vocals reduced or removed you get to hear there's a lot going on behind their voices. It brings out the musicality in each track. Really nice to listen to in their own right or as background music when relaxing with friends.

 

10 Looking Somebody

r&b/soul/dancehall/ragga/reggae

Some great rhythms here - mostly dancehall/ragga with some love songs! Kicks off with a re-working of Ebony Eyes called Look at Me on the same rhythm used for Junior Tucker's smash Love Of A Lifetime. If you're into dancehall/ragga checkout If Only You Knew, It's Alright, National Arena, Miracle and the irrepressible National Arena. Love songs are the excellent title track Looking Somebody, Shekara, Better Late Than Never and Falling In Love With You. Produced by Bobby Digital (aka Digital B) and Steely & Clevie.

 

11 Railway Station 

r&b/soul/dancehall/ragga/reggae

Good album this, further extending the Me and You style! If you like dancehall/ragga checkout Big Beat, Lively It Up and Rub-A-Dub Breakdown their reworking of the Bob Marley and the Wailers classic - Soul Shakedown. Produced by Steely & Clevie and Prince Jammy with backing bands such as Soul Syndicate, Sound Dimension and Mafia & Fluxy.

 

12 Friends

r&b/soul/reggae/roots/ballad

A really interesting mix here as Me and You do backing vocals for friends Alton Ellis produced by Castro Brown, Al Campbell, Sugar Minott and Tracy amongst others - the Tracy track the only ballad is produced by Paul Weller previously lead singer and founder of rock/pop groups Style Council and The Jam. 4 Girls don't need any help from Me and You as there's enough of them in their group to do their own harmonies! There's social commentary songs, Pressure De Poor by Sugar Minott about poverty and Is That The Way about morality. There's also a wicked dancehall tune by Shirley McLean called Don Girl.
